Oneirism sees the drones of Synthetic Children's self-titled debut ripping open to reveal a wider palette of genres and emotion. Mutations of garage and techno collide with coruscating FM synths and heavy bass across 7 tracks. A notable highlight is ‘Forgiven’, which features dreamo singer-songwriter Bambin (also of Palmerston North/Wellington). Their soothing vocals navigate a bright dreamscape, before lifting you up into a thumping trance above it all. On the other end of the spectrum, the closing track ‘Jagrafess’ is perhaps the most aggressive cut, with its industrial hissing claps, distorted bassline, and jagged drone. All of these tracks were recorded during livestreamed jams at home during the first NZ lockdown.

Synthetic Children will be performing this album at the Swampfest x Tinyclub show on the 10th of October 2020, in Palmerston North.
